Cultured Appropriation Burger

culturedapp

This recipe takes a bunch of epic cultured food products and recreates a classic burger with a fermented twist. If you’ve never tried fermented bean curd, I highly recommend. It is essentially tofu that has been fermented to taste nearly like cheese. It has often been dubbed Chinese cheese for this reason, often tasting with qualities of blue cheese, mildly soy sauce-ish, warm, vibrant, umami and a bit salty, so do apply with caution, the flavor is potent. The vegans really must get on this ingredient, it is such a utility in the creation of cheese flavors. The kimchi takes the place of lettuce, also functioning something like a tomato as well (being red and all). The overall flavor of this burger is incredible, umami, and a luscious cheesy fermented wildness.

Cooking

These food blog posts will encourage creative freedom. Preparation of this recipe is fairly straight forward. Just cook the burger to your liking, apply the fermented tofu to toasted English muffin to taste, then add jalapenos, green onions, onto the pasty tofu spread, place burger on top, then kimchi above that, and finally top with the other face of the toasted English muffin.
